The notorious hacking group said in a statement last Saturday that they will be ending their vicious activity online. “For the past 50 days we’ve been disrupting and exposing corporations, governments, often the general population itself, and quite possibly everything in between, just because we could,” LulzSec said in a post on multiple sites. They did not cite a reason.
If this is true, the group’s final attack would have been the posting of what it said were internal company documents from AT&T along with private data from other companies.
LulzSec has a large history of hacks, including the Sony network, the FBI’s InfraGard database, porn websites, and others listed on their site.
Last week, French police arrested Ryan Cleary for allegedly being associated with LulzSec. But this did not stop them from continuing to hack.
Hopefully LulzSec really is finished and we won’t have to worry anymore about our passwords, emails, and credit card info being exposed to the public.
