Three juveniles were charged as adults for the murder and robbery of 70-year-old Ho Kim in San Francisco. A 15-year-old is being charged in juvenile court, and an 18-year-old is also being charged.
Kim, the longtime owner of the Travis Dairy store on East Travis Boulevard, was affectionately known as Papa by area residents. He was behind the counter when he was confronted by three juveniles just before 8 p.m., while the fourth youth stood lookout outside, police Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.
Kim was attacked with pepper spray, and the cash register, a video recorder and other items were stolen,, Hurlbut said. The cash register was later found on a rural road between Fairfield and Vacaville.
An autopsy by the Solano County coroner determined that Kim died of an irregular heartbeat “due to emotional distress caused by an assault.”
